Plant Sale Information
Who can buy your plants?
Anyone! Yes, that means you!
How much are your plants?
- Trees and shrubs: $20-$30
- Herbaceous plants: $10-15
Can I only buy plants during those dates and times?
- For now, those are our only drop-in sale times. If you’d like to purchase from us outside of those hours or make an order in advance, please email our nursery manager, Audrey at abodenlos@ReforestOurFuture.org
- We will have two major plant sales a year – one in the spring and one in the fall.
Why buy from Reforest Our Future?
- Our plants are native, which are beneficial for all sorts of reasons!
- Our trees are young and small (between 1-2 years old).
What’s the benefit of native plants?
- Native plants are used to living in our very specific environment, which means they’ll require less care from you (like less watering during times of drought).
- Native plants support our ecosystem, so you’ll get to see more beautiful butterflies and birds around!
- Native plants can be solutions for your particular needs – have a low spot where water pools? Need to retain a hillside from eroding? Looking for something to give your yard some privacy all year long? We have trees for all that and more.
What’s the benefit of buying young trees?
Trees that are matured for a long time in the nursery often have defects in their roots due to growing in pots or being dug out of the ground. Older trees can also be more difficult to establish in a new location, but young trees can spring back faster. Plus, the smaller the tree, the easier to plant!
Growing Trees
We grow native trees and shrubs that would look great in any landscape.
Western Pennsylvania has an incredible selection of native trees, many of which can be found in the forest surrounding our nursery. We collect seeds from these trees and grow them until they are ready to be planted into new Patches of local forest.
Join us if you are interested in learning how to grow native trees by signing up for volunteer days at the nursery or attending one of our informative events.
Our first round of trees will be available for sale, fall 2025.
